Sweet N Smokey Trail Mix

Here’s a snack food that’s simple to make and you’ll want to make it again and again! Don’t be afraid to play around with the ingredients! Remove stuff you don’t like and add some stuff you do…… like rye chips, raisins, club crackers or even some cranberries to add some tang!

Here’s what you need:

2c Corn Chex

2c Wheat Chex

1c Cheeze It’s

1c Cheerios

1c stick pretzels

1c mixed nuts

1c butter

1c brown sugar

1/3c bourbon whiskey

2Tbsp Bo B Q Sodium Free Rub

Directions:

  1. Preheat your smoker to 250 degrees.

  2. Let’s start by combining the last 4 ingredients on our list in a pot. We want to melt these ingredients together on low heat to create the glaze.

  3. While the glaze is heating and coming together, we’re going to add the first 6 ingredients on our list into a disposable foil pan.

  4. When it’s ready, pour the glaze over the trail mix and lightly stir to coat the mix.

  5. Now let’s head out to the smoker. We want to smoke it for 15 minutes at 250.

  6. Stir and repeat 2 more times.

  7. Now let’s crank up the heat to 350 and smoke another 15 until slightly charred.

  8. Remove and enjoy! Best served warm but can be stored in an air tight container for later!
